Wearable Art Show at The Gallery at Cove Commons Gallery Under the Curator, Ines Ortner
: - A Comment on today
Today everyone wants to be a PRINCESS and here we have our Princess with her trusty Phone while snacking on a Pear (NOT fresh of course as there is so little truly fresh food available in the large grocery shops)
This is a world where we WEAR PLASTIC, COMMUNICATE ON PLASTIC and EAT PLASTIC
Made from plastic bags.
The BLACK MAIN DRESS is made from Black garbage bags. I have applied a High Thermodynamic process. (😉 Heat)
The UNDERSKIRT was made from Recycled shopping bags that were stripped and made into Plarn which I crocheted.
The CUFFS are the protective sleeves from Nashi Pears (Apple Pear)
The CROWN (because all princess need a crown) is also crocheted Plarn
The MOBILE PHONE and PEAR is crocheted Plarn.
Vikki with one of the two chairs she painted for the " Take Another Seat" fundraiser for the Art Gallery ( Now known as The Gallery at Cove Commons )
Vikki also enjoys volunteering at Galleries on Bowen Island. Above was the tremendous success of the First " Mini Gala" at the NEW Gallery at Cove Commons in Snug Cove Bowen Island.
